Holiday Hill Day Camp takes pride in the purposeful focus we place on the relationships forged between our Campers, Counselors, and Instructors. It truly sets the tone for fostering your child’s independence, confidence, and critical thinking skills. We offer both quality daily activities in diverse content areas and also exciting special events across our programming. Our staff strives to ensure that our shared values of teamwork, respect, kindness, honesty, and personal responsibility embody all we do.

Michael has worked at Holiday Hill for 17 years, 4 as Executive Director and 5 as Director. Prior to HHDC, he was the director of YMCA Camp Mt. Laurel and the Hamden Green Dragon Camps for a combined 8 years.

Steve is going on his 6th year at Holiday Hill, 4 as director. During the school year, Steve is an Assistant Principal for New Haven Public Schools. Steve enjoys hiking, farming and spending time with his family.

Sharee will be spending her 10th year at Holiday Hill. She has taught for 13 years and is currently a ESL Coach for ACES. As a camp employee and educator, Sharee loves to spend the summers surrounded by smiling children who are having the ultimate camp experience.

Bob is starting his 7th summer at Holiday Hill Day Camp, 3rd as Assistant Director. During the school year he works as a high school social studies teacher. He is looking forward to a fun summer at the Hill with his whole family!

Mike is starting his 6th summer working at Holiday Hill. As a kid, he was a camper for at Holiday Hill. Mike is a certified Physical Education teacher with a masters in Special Education. Mike enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, working out, and playing sports.

Wayne is entering his 3rd year as the Aquatics Director at HHDC. Prior to that, he served as the Assistant Director at Paradise Country Club in Hamden. Wayne has been a Physical Education teacher in West Haven for the past 4 years where he also coaches middle school soccer and baseball. When Wayne is not spending time with his family you can find him on the Appalachian Trail backpacking with friends, in the gym, or relaxing at home with his dog Ladi.

Daly is starting her 28th summer at HHDC. She has been with us since she was 4 years, growing from a camper to a C.I.T, counselor, and even a lifeguard. Daly is going on her 6th year as our PreKamp and Lower Camp Coordinator, working to give our youngest campers the ultimate camp experience. Daly is an elementary special education teacher in New York City.

Justin is going into his 3rd summer at Holiday Hill as a employee and 8 years as a camper. Before Holiday Hill, he worked at Camp Quinnipiac for five years, two of those being as Director. He is currently getting his masters in Special Eduction.

Marissa is a 7th grade social studies teacher in Bethany. She attended Holiday Hill as a camper and CIT, and is going on her 3rd year as a Unit Head. Marissa loves friendly competition, listening to music, running, and being outside in the sunshine! She spends her weekends hanging out with her husband, 2 kids, and puppy.

Melissa Rhone is starting her 7th summer working at Holiday Hill, though as a kid spent a the majority of her summers as a camper! She works as a 5th grade teacher for North Haven Public Schools during the school year. She has a husband and two children.

Jason is a 7th and 8th grade special education teacher at ACES Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School in Hamden. He has worked at the JCC of Greater New Haven’s Day Camps for 15+ summers as a counselor and unit head. As a child, Jason spent multiple summers at HHDC and loves that he has the opportunity to share everything that HHDC has to offer with all of our awesome campers! He enjoys outdoor activities, fishing challenges, drone photography and spending time with his wife, 2 kids and dog.

Jennifer is the friendly person who answers the phones during camp season and enjoys speaking to and helping camper’s families. This is her 6th year at camp and she loves assisting the administrative team in the camp office to ensure campers have the ultimate camp experience. She lives in Guilford with her husband and two daughters. During the school year she works at a Guilford elementary school as an Aide.
